Summer High Adventure Opportunity

Posted on Jan 29 2015 - 1:58pm

The troop will participate in high adventure programs offered by Buffalo Trails Scout Ranch.  Scouts will have 2 programs to choose from:  One program is their Long Outback program, which is like a "mini-Philmont" expedition consisting of backpacking 29-35 miles in a 5-day trek in the Davis Mountains.  The second program is their Mountain Man program, which is for scouts that want to experience the primitive life of men like Kit Carson and Daniel Boone in the 1840's.  Both programs are 1-week and scouts must be at least 13 years old.  This will not be like summer camp, where merit badge work is the focus.  Spaces will be limited for both programs.  Adult drivers will be needed for transport to and from the camp.
